For this project I was looking into post markings.
I wrote a paragraph on what I though graphic design was to me, and I recorded myself reciting it. From that recording I transferred the voice pattern into a marking in itself.
"What is graphic design?
Graphic Design is communication in many forms. Look down at roads and pavements and there's often a slew of squiggles, dots and arrows, painted in a plethora of hues. The letters you receive contain markings in code known to postmen alone. It’s the conversation you hear in that coffeeshop. It’s the paintings in museums big and small positioned purposely. It’s in the book you’re holding, on the map you’re trying to understand. It’s the bus that you just missed because you were engaged by the text on your phone. It’s the pixels of the virtual world. It’s the graffiti that ruins your day. It is political manifestos and campaign buses. It is the food you instagram. It is the choice of paper, the type of ink, the message, the warning. You either love it or hate it. We experience it from the moment we wake to the moment we sleep. It is found down the street you live, up in the sky. It’s personal, but it can be impersonal. Graphic design is everywhere. Graphic design is what you are reading right now, but maybe you disagree…
What is graphic design?"
The final piece is a role of the monologue print.
